What you need:
Your Favorite Cake Batter
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
Jelly Roll Pan
What to do:
Pre-heat the oven to 350F.
Using your favorite cake batter, pour the prepared batter into a jelly roll pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
Smooth out the batter with a spatula until it reaches all of the edges.
Bake for 15 minutes, until the cake is done.
Cool on a wire rack until completely cool.
Once the cake is cooled, use the cookie cutter to gently cut out heart shaped cakes.
Place the cut out cakes onto a cooling rack. Place some paper towels under the cooling rack (this will catch the dripping icing)
Melt the icing until it is mostly liquid. Color is with food coloring.
Once the icing is liquid and it is the color that you want it to be spoon it over the hearts, letting the excess run down the sides. This is were the cooling rack will come in handing, so the icing doesn't pool at the bottom of the heart cakes.
Using regular white icing (or which ever color you prefer) pipe small messages onto the hearts. Let the icing set up (about 10 minutes).
