Beer Battered Fried Pickles

What you'll need:

Pickles (Sliced into rounds)

2 Bottles of Light Beer (we uses Bud Light)

3 Cups All Purpose Flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Vegetable Oil

Your Favorite Dipping Sauce (optional, I used french onion dip)

What to do:

Heat the oil to about 350F. I don't use a thermometer (ours broke), so I test it by letting it heat up for a little bit, dropping a small bit of batter in and watching to see if it starts to fry. Then it's ready.

In a large bowl, mix together the beer, flour, salt and pepper. Whisk until a smooth batter forms.

Pat the pickle rounds dry with a paper towel.

Line a plate with paper towels (this is where you will place the pickles after they fry)

Working in small batches, about 6 at a time, dip the pickle rounds into the batter. Once they are covered in batter, drop them into the hot oil and let them fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until lightly brown.

(We didn't want ours super brown or crispy, but you could fry them longer if you wanted)

Remove fried pickles from oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to drain the oil off them.

Continue this process until all pickles are fried.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or eat plain .

I served mine with french onion dip! YUM!
