Banana Chocolate Scones
Here is a sweet treat for any Banana Chocolate Lovers out there :)
When we lived at the Military Base I worked at Starbucks for a little while, and had my first Scone. I had avoided them for a long time just because of the name... Scone.... a scone... just didn't sound appealing to me... scone... lol. Even now thinking of ordering a Scone Doesn't make me jump for Joy but I do enjoy making them. I assume its because I can make them in any flavor I'd like and they don't cost an arm and a leg to bake at home.... unlike some bakeries.
What you need:
2 cups Bisquick Mix
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups Mashed Bananas
1/3 cup whipping (heavy) cream
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Melted Chocolate Wafers
What to do:
Pre-Heat oven to 425F.
Spray your cookie sheet with cooking spray or if using a stoneware cookie sheet spray with canola oil.
Stir Bisquick mix, chocolate chips, mashed bananas, 1/3 cup whipping cream, 3 tablespoons sugar, the egg and vanilla in medium bowl until mixed into a dough.
Roll out dough onto a floured cutting board. I used a egg shaped cookie cutter to cut my scones out. I then placed them on a cookie sheet. Brush scones with melted butter and sprinkle with additional sugar. If you don't have a egg shaped cookie cutter or don't want to use one you can also take spoon fulls of the dough, roll into balls, and flatten with your hands. You have to have them about 1/2 inch or maybe a little thinner when baking.
Bake about 12 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to cooling racks.
Once cooled, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the scones if you'd like.
