“Lift High the Cross” (arr. Charles Ore) and “Holy, Holy” (arr. Fred Bock)

Invocation Pastor Bill Bertsche

Scripture Reading Psalm 95:1–8a (ESV) Denise Boulos
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
    let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

For the Lord is a great God,
    and a great King above all gods
.

In his hand are the depths of the earth;
    the heights of the mountains are his also.
        The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
    let us kneel before the Lord
, our Maker !
For he is our God
,
    and we are the people of his pasture
, and the sheep of his hand.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.

Holy Is the Lord”

Offering”

Labor Day ~ Monday, September 01 ~ US ~ First Monday In September

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

We are thankful for your presence at The Moody Church today! Rebecca and I are celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary this weekend, and in my absence, my good friend Michael Rydelnik is preaching this morning. I know he will be a blessing to everyone.

Today marks the end of our fiscal year. As you can see in the bulletin, we have a significant budget shortfall, but we are trusting God for a generous offering today that will help narrow the gap. Remember, money is ministry. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share the gospel in so many different ways with thousands of people.

Finally, and most important, this Wednesday is our Day of Prayer and Fasting. Please read the “Take Note” for the details, or pick up a flyer at our Information Desk. Our focus will be praying for the church, both locally and globally. We will pray for The Moody Church, the other evangelical churches of Chicago, and our brothers and sisters in Iraq, Egypt, and other countries. Of course we will also pray for your individual needs.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday evening!

All for the King,
Pastor Lutzer
