Why, you might ask, does Bibleitis.Com use the Matthew quotes about war, rumors of war and nation rising up against nation and kingdom against kingdom under the heading of Economic Violence?

First, we could have and almost did use the heading of Economic War here, but we didn't because news about economic wars could be included under an economic violence heading but not visa versa.

Secondly, we chose the term "Economic Violence" because economics, violence and wars are so intermingled. An article on War by Wikipedia says it best when they write: "Typically speaking, war becomes very intertwined with the economy and many wars are partially or entirely based on economic reasons..." War Link

Thirdly, we chose the term "Economic Violence" because economic conditions often result in kingdoms and nations experiencing violence, in a variety of forms, such as crime, violent demonstrations, riots, etc.  In fact, the American FBI Uniform Crime Report list economic conditions as one of the leading causes of crime in the U.S.

Bottom Line: If you want to keep up on the latest economic news and where we headed in terms of violence and wars check here first.
