My Bias Line

THIS WEBSITE IS W WORK-IN-PROGRESS THANKS TO YAHOO-GEOCITIES REMOVING ALL THE WEBSITES.  IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET THEM MOVED BUT I WILL TRY HARD TO GET IT DONE.  UNTIL THEN, GO TO:

 http://www.reocities.com/bias1.geo/JesseRhodaStory.html

IT APPEARS THAT ALL THE GEOCITIES WEBSITES HAVE BEEN LINKED TO RIOCITIES.COM SO MAYBE THEY AREN'T LOST FOREVER.  STILL WORKING ON IT AS TIME PERMITS.

EACH PAGE SEEMS TO BE LINKED TO THE OLD GEOCITIES PAGES SO IT MAY BE EASIER TO NAVIGATE THERE THAN HERE FOR THE TIME BEING.

I WILL BE REMOVING PAGES AND LINKING THEM HERE UNTIL I GET ALL PAGES MOVED OR UNTIL YAHOO REMOVES THE SITE COMPLETELY.  I AM SORRY ABOUT THIS.  IT HAS TAKEN ME 15 YEARS TO GET IT THIS FAR!

HELLO.  MY NAME IS LOUISE BIAS-HILL.  THIS WEBSITE IS DEDICATED TO MY FATHER (BIAS) AND MOTHER'S (HAMPTON) GENEALOGY LINES.  I HAVE RESEARCHED THESE LINES FOR MORE THAN 15 YEARS NOW AND HAVE AMASSED ABOUT 15,000 PLUS NAMES.

HERE IS A WEBPAGE DONE BY SOMEONE ABOUT LUTIE, MO, OR PRESENT DAY THEODOSIA, MO, WHERE OUR LINE SETTLED.  QUITE INTERESTING AND CORRECT:

LIKE EVERYONE, IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT I HAVE MADE SOME MISTAKES ALONG THE WAY.  IF YOU FIND ANY OF THEM THAT YOU KNOW ARE INCORRECT OR IF YOU CAN ADD TO THE INFORMATION I WOULD MOST CERTAINLY LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

The Dash Poem - by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone,
From the beginning…to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth…
And now only those who loved her,
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
The cars…the house…the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard…
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile.
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy’s being read, With your life’s
actions to rehash…
Would you be proud of the things they say bout how you spent your dash?

OUR EARLIEST KNOWN BIAS ANCESTOR, JESSE BIAS (BYOUS, BYAS, BIOUS, BIASS, BICE, ETC.)

Our BIAS family has been traced back to Jesse Bias (Byous, Bise, Bice, Bius, etc.) and Rhoda Bloyd in Green County, KY. Jesse was born about 1786 in probably Green County, KY. Rhoda was probably born in Rockingham County, NC. They were married in 1809 in Green County, KY, as their marriage record proves. That is the FIRST written record we have found so far to my knowledge. Probably after Rhoda died, Jesse married Matilda Jane Perry in Indiana and they all set out for Missouri by horseback and wagon.
