FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Black Hills Steampunk Society to Hold First Annual Summer Fete.
1880's meets science fiction at William Nordermeer Formal Gardens
Rapid City, SD, USA, 14 July 2014
The Black Hills Steampunk Society will be holding their First Annual Summer Fete on Saturday July 19th in the William Nordermeer Formal Gardens in Sioux Park, Rapid City. The Society is a regional hobby club that mixes the atmosphere of the late 1800's to early 1900's with science fiction, Ala Jules Verne, Arthur Conan Doyle and H.P. Lovecraft. The Summer Fete, which is free and open to the public, is an outdoor celebration that incorporates traditional and not-so traditional garden games, arts & crafts vendors and a cold-item potluck picnic.
The BH Steampunk Society was formed early this year and strives to provide a creative outlet for costumers, jewelers, prop makers, writers and others who appreciate the steampunk aesthetic. This is the Society's second public event this year, having just recently hosted a costumed ride on the 1880's train in Keystone/Hill City. Many of the members take delight in attending events in elaborate costumes and exploring the real history of the turn of the 20th century.
