The NHL Playoffs

The NHL playoffs are just kicking off and some big shocks have already happened. In the Western Conference the 8th seeded Los Angeles Kings upset the 1st seeded Vancouver Canucks by winning the series 4-1. The 2nd seeded St. Louis Blues beat the 7th seeded San Jose Sharks in the series, 4-1.  The 3rd seeded Phoenix Coyotes are still looking to put the 6th seeded Chicago Blackhawks away but they won’t go down without a fight as the series is at Phoenix leading, 3-2. The 4th seeded Nashville Predators beat the favored 5th seed, Detroit Red Wings in the series, 4-1.

In the Eastern Conference, the 8th seeded Ottawa Senators are looking to stun the #1 seeded New York Rangers as they lead the series, 3-2. The 7th seeded Washington Capitals failed to beat the 2nd seeded Boston Bruins in game 6, so the series is tied at 3-3 in a sudden death finish on April 25th. The 3rd seeded Florida Panthers are trying to hold on to beat the 6th seeded New Jersey Devils as they lead the series, 3-2. And last, but not least, the 5th seeded Philadelphia Flyers managed to put down the 4th seeded Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-2. Most of the favorites in the playoffs have been knocked out, so it will be interesting to see who will win it all!
