若復苾芻尼知女人二歲學六法及六隨法了。不與受近圓者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing that a female* has completed the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas, not give her the full ordination, [this entails a] pacittiya.
*Vibhanga: female = sikkhamana.
緣處同前。時吐羅難陀尼。度他女人出家。與二歲學六法六隨法。滿已白言。聖者。可與我受近圓。便報彼尼。汝可更學極令通利當受近圓。彼尼默住。後於異時。眾多苾芻尼告曰。汝既學法已滿。何不受近圓耶。答言。我已諮請聖者吐羅難陀。報曰。可更學令通利當受近圓。 Same place as before [at Savatthi]. At that time, Bhikkhuni Thullananda gave the going forth to a female and the female then completed the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas. The female then asked Bhikkhuni Thullananda, “Venerable, please give me full ordination.” However, Bhikkhuni Thullananda replied, “You should continue to perfect the training before full ordination.” After some time, other bhikkhunis said to her, “You have completed your training, why have you not taken the full ordination?” She replied, “I have requested from Venerable Thullananda, but she said that I should continue to perfect my training before full ordination.”
尼白苾芻。苾芻白佛。佛問訶責。廣說乃至制其學處。應如是說。 The bhikkhunis informed the bhikkhus. Then the bhikkhus went to report this to the Buddha. The Buddha inquired about this and rebuked them. [All should be explained as above, as far as:] “... now I lay down this precept for bhikkhunis, from now on the precept should be spoken as follows:
若復苾芻尼。知女人二歲學六法及六隨法了。不與受近圓者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing that a female has completed the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas, not give her the full ordination, [this entails a] pacittiya.”
尼謂吐羅難陀。或復餘尼。知女人二歲學者。謂學法已滿不與受近圓。釋罪相等廣說如前。 ‘Bhikkhuni’ means Bhikkhuni Thullananda or other bhikkhunis. ‘Knowing that a female has completed the two years’ means completion of training yet not having given her the full ordination. The details of offenses are explained as before.
