若復苾芻尼知童女年未滿二十。與受近圓者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing that a maiden is not fully twenty years old, give [her] the full ordination, [this entails a] pacittiya.
緣處同前。時吐羅難陀苾芻尼。與年十八童女出家。與二歲學六法六隨法。年未滿二十便受近圓。 Same place as before [at Savatthi]. At that time, Bhikkhuni Thullananda gave the going forth to a maiden who was eighteen years old. Bhikkhuni Thullananda then gave the girl two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas. She then gave her the full ordination when she was not yet twenty years old.
諸苾芻尼曰。如世尊說。十八歲童女應與二歲學六法六隨法。年滿二十方受近圓。聖者云何知年未滿便授近圓。可為淨耶。答言。淨與不淨我已授近圓竟。 The bhikkhunis said, “According to the Buddha, a maiden who is eighteen years old should receive the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas. She should be given ordination at the age of twenty. Why did Bhikkhuni Thullananda give full ordination to a maiden who has not reached twenty years of age? Is it pure or not?” Bhikkhuni Thullananda replied, “Whether it is pure or impure, I have already given the full ordination.”
尼白苾芻。苾芻白佛。佛問訶責。廣說乃至制其學處。應如是說。 The bhikkhunis informed the bhikkhus. The bhikkhus then reported this to the Buddha. The Buddha inquired about this and rebuked them. [All should be explained as above, as far as:] “... now I lay down this precept for bhikkhunis, from now on the precept should be spoken as follows:
若復苾芻尼。知童女年未滿二十。與受近圓者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing that a maiden is not fully twenty years old, give [her] the full ordination, [this entails a] pacittiya.”
尼謂吐羅難陀。或復餘尼。童女者。謂未嫡男家。未滿二十歲者。謂年十九而受近圓。餘義如上釋罪相等廣亦同前。 ‘Bhikkhuni’ means Thullananda or other bhikkhunis. ‘Maiden’ means [未嫡男家] not in the lineage of a man's family.'Not reached twenty years old' means receive full ordination at age nineteen. The details of the offenses are explained as before.
