若復苾芻尼知曾嫁女人年未滿十二。與出家者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing a married woman is not fully twelve years old, [yet] give [her] the going forth*, [this entails a] pacittiya. *Vibhanga: going forth = samaneri ordination
緣處同前。時愚癡人惡生誅伐釋種。多有釋女無所依怙得為出家。憂愁親戚思念悲泣。後既悟法憂念漸除求受近圓。 At that time, there was a foolish and evil man who killed the Sakya clan. Many Sakya women became homeless and had to go forth. They missed their families and were grieving. Later on, when they realized the dhamma, their grief reduced and they requested full ordination.
諸苾芻尼曰。汝等待年滿二十方受近圓。白言。聖者。待滿二十時極久長。諸尼曰。若滿二十即能奉事鄔波馱耶及阿遮利耶。尼曰。我等在家事夫營業尚能成辦。今豈不能奉親教師及軌範師耶。 The bikkhunis said, “All of you should wait until you are twenty years old for full ordination.” These women then replied, “It's too long to wait until we are twenty years old.” The bhikkhunis said, “Only when you have reached the age of twenty will you have the capacity to attend to an upajjhaya and acariya.” The women replied, “At home, we are able to take care of our husbands, the household chores, and our businesses; there is no reason why we cannot attend to an upajjhaya and acariya.”
尼白苾芻。苾芻白佛。 The bhikkhunis informed the bhikkhus. The bhikkhus then reported this to the Buddha.
佛言。若曾嫁女年滿十二或十八歲者。應與二年正學法方授近圓。應如是與。 The Buddha replied, “A married woman who is twelve years old, or one who is eighteen years old, should be given two years of correct training before full ordination. The giving of the two years of training is as follows:
僧伽悉集。令彼隨次禮已。於上座前作如是語。大德尼僧伽聽。我某甲今因事故以尊重。某甲為親教師。今從尼僧伽。乞六法六隨法為正學女。願尼僧伽與某甲六法六隨法正學處。某甲為親教師。是能愍者。願哀愍故。如是三說。 Once the whole Sangha has assembled, she [the candidate] should pay respects, then she should speak as follows: 'Noble bhikkhuni sangha, listen, my name is....... [I come here] concerning a certain matter, with respect. The name of my upajjhaya is........ I now request the agreement from the bhikkhuni sangha to train in the six dhammas and six anudhammas as a girl who undertakes the correct training (正學女). May the bhikkhuni sangha give me the training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas. My upajjhaya's name is....., she is both capable [to be upajjhaya] and compassionate. Please assist me out of compassion.' Repeat as above three times.
次一苾芻尼作白羯磨。大德尼僧伽聽。此求寂女某甲年滿十八。某甲為鄔波馱耶。今從苾芻尼僧伽。於二年內乞學六法六隨法。若苾芻尼僧伽時至聽者。苾芻尼僧伽應許。苾芻尼僧伽今與求寂女某甲年滿十八於二年內學六法六隨法某甲為鄔波馱耶。白如是。 Then one bhikkhuni should carry out the motion: 'The noble bhikkhuni sangha, listen, this samaneri (求寂女) by the name of..... who is fully eighteen years old, with her upajjhaya....., now requests of the bhikkhuni sangha two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas. If the time for the sangha has come, may the sangha then allow that this samaneri by the name of.....who is fully eighteen years old undertake the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas under her upajjhaya, whose name is...... That is the motion.'
次作羯磨。大德尼僧伽聽。此求寂女某甲年滿十八。某甲為鄔波馱耶。今從苾芻尼僧伽。於二年內乞學六法六隨法。某甲為鄔波馱耶。苾芻尼僧伽今與求寂女某甲年滿十八於二年內學六法六隨法某甲為鄔波馱耶。若諸具壽聽與求寂女某甲年滿十八於二年內學六法六隨法某甲為鄔波馱耶者默然。若不許者說。苾芻尼僧伽已與求寂女某甲年滿十八於二年內學六法六隨法某甲為鄔波馱耶竟。苾芻尼僧伽已聽許。由其默然故。我今如是持。 Then the kammavacana: 'The noble bhikkhuni sangha, listen, this samaneri by the name of....who is fully fully eighteen years old, with the upajjhaya....., now requests of the bhikkhuni sangha two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas under her upajjhaya, whose name is...... Those who are agreed that this samaneri whose name is....and who is fully eighteen years old should undertake the two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas under her upajjhaya....., may they remain silent. Those who do not accept it, may they speak. The bhikkhuni sangha has accepted that this samaneri by the name of....who is fully eighteen years old should undertake two years of training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas under her upajjhaya..... The sangha accepts this and therefore the sangha remains silent. This should be remembered from now on.'
次應告言。汝某甲聽。始從今日應學六法。一者不得獨在道行。二者不得獨渡河水。三者不得觸丈夫身四者不得與男子同宿。五者不得為媒嫁事。六者不得覆尼重罪。攝頌曰。 
不獨在道行 不獨渡河水 
不故觸男子 不與男同宿 
不為媒嫁事 不覆尼重罪
Then she should be told: 'From today onwards you should train in the six dhammas.
1. no walking alone 2.no crossing the river alone 3. no touching a man's body 4. no staying with a man 5. no acting as a go-between 6. no concealing bhikkhunis' parajjika offences'
復言。汝某甲聽。始從今日應學六隨法。一者不得捉屬己金銀二者不得剃隱處毛。三者不得墾掘生地四者不得故斷生草木。五者不得不受而食六者不得食曾觸食。攝頌曰。 不捉於金等 不除隱處毛 不掘於生地 不壞生草木 不受食不飡 曾觸不應食 Then continue as follows: 'From today onwards you should train in the six anudhammas.
1. no handling money 2. no shaving hair of the private parts 3. no digging 4. no destroying living plants 5. no taking food which has not been offered 6. no eating food that has been touched.' ”
如是世尊令曾嫁女應滿二年學六法六隨法正學法已方受近圓。 Thus the Buddha allowed full ordination for married women who have completed two years of correct training in the six dhammas and six anudhammas.
時吐羅難陀尼。未滿十二歲女。與出家并授近圓。 At that time, the Bhikkhuni Thullananda gave the going forth and full ordination to a female who was not fully twelve years old.
尼白苾芻。苾芻白佛。佛問訶責。廣說乃至制其學處。應如是說。 The bhikkhunis informed the bhikkhus. The bhikkhus then reported this to the Buddha. The Buddha inquired about this and rebuked them. [All should be explained as above, as far as:] “... now I lay down this precept for bhikkhunis, from now on the precept should be spoken as follows:
若復苾芻尼。知曾嫁女人年未滿十二與出家者。波逸底迦。 Should any bhikkhuni, knowing a married woman is not fully twelve years old, [yet] give [her] going forth, [this entails a] pacittiya.”
尼等如上。曾嫁女者。謂曾適他氏。未滿者。謂年未十二。與出家者。義如上說。釋罪相等廣說如前。 'Bhikkhuni' is as explained above. 'Married woman' (曾嫁女) means married woman (曾適他氏).'Not fully' means not yet twelve years old. 'Give the going forth' is as above [see Pac 106, means to give samaneri ordination]. The details of offences are explained as before.
