若比丘尼與未滿十八歲童女受學戒。波逸提。 |
Should any bhikkhuni give the training in the precepts to a maiden who is not yet fully eighteen years old, [this entails a] pacittiya.

爾時諸比丘尼與未滿十八歲童女受學戒。愚闇無知不堪學戒。 |
At that time, the bhikkhunis gave the training precepts to a maiden who was not yet fully eighteen years old. These maidens were foolish, ignorant, and not able to train. |
諸長老比丘尼見種種訶責。 |
The elder bhikkhunis saw this and criticized in many ways. |
乃至今為諸比丘尼結戒。亦如上說。從今是戒應如是說。 |
[All should be explained as above, as far as:] “... now I lay down this precept for bhikkhunis, from now on the precept should be spoken as follows:

若比丘尼與未滿十八歲童女受學戒波逸提。 |
Should any bhikkhuni give the training precepts to a maiden who is not yet fully eighteen years of age, this entails a pacittiya.” |
童女者。未經男子。發心及方便乃至白二羯磨未滿突吉羅。白二羯磨波逸提。餘師眾皆突吉羅。 |
‘Maiden’ means ‘has not been with a man’. From forming the intention to performing the motion with announcement as second kamma is a dukkata. Performing the motion with announcement as second kamma is a pacittiya. The remainder of the assembly incur a dukkata. |
