Volunteer and Donor Recognition Evening

Our volunteers and donors are the heart and soul of BFO-Toronto.

June 21st 2017 – Volunteer Appreciation Evening

We are so grateful that for the seventh year, Linden & Associates helped us thank our Volunteers and Donors in a style befitting of their tremendous contributions and generosity.

This year the event was held at George Brown College Chef’s Table Restaurant on King Street East.  The venue and the company ensured for an evening where friendships were made and renewed.  It is not often that those who give so much to BFO-Toronto are given the kudos that they so richly deserve, so we are especially grateful that, thanks to Justin Linden and his team, once a year we are able to host a party for the wonderful people who make a difference in the lives of so many bereaved people in our community.

This year the contributions of two very special volunteers were recognized:

Heather Hewitt was presented with the Noah Thorek Award.  This award is named in memory of the infant son of Faye & Michael Cole.  The award is presented to an exemplary volunteer of Bereaved Families of Ontario-Toronto who over time and with consistency volunteers his/her time to support our grief support programs.  The recipient of this award is a role model for other facilitators and exemplifies the best qualities and work of our Group Facilitators.

Karen Ayres was presented with the Founders’ Award.  Named in honour of our Founding Mothers and the chaplaincy Department of Sick Kids’ Hospital, this award is presented to an exemplary and dedicated volunteer whose long-term commitment supports the administrative and fundraising needs of Bereaved Families of Ontario-Toronto.

Thank you to all those who attended.  We hope you had fun.  And most of all, thank you to our wonderful Volunteers and Donors for giving so much to BFO-Toronto!
