Texas State Summer Theatre Camp

To apply for the high school summer theatre camp, please download the application below and mail the application, student handbook form, and $300 non-refundable deposit to the address on the form by May 15th. During the two weeks of our camp, students will participate in theatre classes taught by Texas State University faculty and guest instructors.  Each student will audition for and be cast in a one-act play that will be performed for an audience of family and friends at the end of the two weeks. Students applying for the technical camp will create all of the technical elements for the one-act play festival.

Thoroughly review and complete the Camp Application as well as the Student-Parent Handbook. 


Please note, this camp is designed for incoming high school Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior year.


Application and Deposit are due to the Department of Theatre and Dance by May 15th of each year.

Camp Fees

Two-week residential fee - $1,000

$300 Non Refundable deposit due with application by May 15th
. Remaining balance to be paid on or before the first day of camp.


Available Scholarships

A limited number of partial scholarships are available to students. Students who wish to apply for aid should send a letter explaining their financial need and situation along with a letter of recommendation from their theatre arts teacher and it should arrive no later than the April 15th. Please send in your application along with the scholarship request. You can wait on mailing the 300 dollar deposit until you find out the scholarship results.

Summer Camp Checklist

Before the start of the workshop, there are some tasks that need to be completed prior to onsite registration in order to facilitate the registration process.  You will need to print the Student-Parent Handbook and all mandatory forms.

Some forms/information need to be completed and sent to Texas State University by the MAY 15th deadline.

Some forms/information need to be completed and brought to the workshop on the first day of camp.


Mail To Texas State By May 15th

   Student Application/Registration Form filled out completely

   $300 deposit (make checks out to "Texas State University" and on the memo line put "summer theatre camp". 

   T-shirt size

   Medical Emergency Information/Consent to Treatment Form filled out completely, signed and dated

   Copies of insurance card attached

   Waiver of Liability, Consent to Treatment and Picture Release Form filled out completely, signed and dated

   Student-Parent Handbook signed and dated form of compliance (last page of handbook)
