Raindrops on Rose Petals

The word falls from lips,

As rain drops from rose petals,

Heartfelt or thoughtless,

Does it matter how genuine?

Yet again you forgive,

So many trespasses and lies,

In the vain hope that one day,

You might forgive yourself.
