Buttery Bourbon Sauce
Makes about 1 cup

1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup cream or half-and--half
2 tablespoons good Kentucky bourbon

Put the sugar, butter, and cream in a saucepan and stir to dissolve the sugar.  Cook over medium heat until smooth and hot, then stir in the bourbon.
