Heat n Eat Steel Cut Oats

Love the texture of steel cut oats but don't have time to cook them in the morning? Here's your solution! Prep them the night before and in the morning they are ready to be heated in the microwave or back up on the stove and eaten in 1-2 minutes! You can easily double, tripe, or quadruple the recipe - just keep the ratio of 1:4 oats:water the same.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup steel cut oats
Directions:
  1. Add water and steel cut oats to a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Let boil for one minute, then cover and remove from heat.
  3. Let sit for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  4. In the morning, just heat them and eat them.
Note: You can add any perishable mix-ins in the morning, or any nonperishable mix-ins the night before. I usually add Trader Joe's peanut flour the night before, or else I'll stir in pumpkin and/or cottage cheese in the morning. Enjoy!
