Sharing Judaism.  Enriching Lives.

As an innovative synagogue within the Conservative movement, Congregation Beth El’s engaged and active members enjoy a caring, spiritual Jewish home creating a warm and welcoming kehilla (community).  Together, we proudly share Jewish ritual, life cycle events and worship as a family while accepting each others individuality.  Our activities, which take place throughout Hampton Roads, celebrate the cultural, religious and spiritual aspects of our Jewish lives.  We learn and work together in the spirit of tikkun olam to address the needs of the community at large.  Future generations will be ensured of Beth El’s longevity because of the generosity of its members.

Congregation Beth El is a vibrant synagogue centrally located in the Ghent area of Norfolk, Virginia. We have a Conservative membership, and Beth El is a founding member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Our synagogue has an outstanding youth education system and a variety of family activities.
