When you drive up Hwy 101, across the Golden Gate Brige, you pass through a tunnel and over a slight hill. As you reach the top of the hill, your cell phone service is maintained, no matter which carrier you have. It's something you're not supposed to notice. If you did notice, you'd see a small Fire station off to the right. On the property of that Fire station, there are no less than 4 antennas for the 4 major wireless providers. Inside the building, are 4 closets with radiation warnings posted clearly on their locked doors. We're moving our Fire department back into this building while the main building is demolished and replaced. The cell phone companies came out and measured the radiation from these towers. They all said it was safe. So I guess it must be.
Electronics such as mobile phones and computers rely on signal towers and wireless networks in order to be able to use the devices' capacities fully. Therefore, the providers for such services have a responsibility for providing consistent signals and services. Without a wireless signal, a computer is not able to access the internet, and without a cell phone signal, making a phone call would not be possible.
