This is also something old, a photo I took back when I had a problem with "cutting." It's my blood, and that same blood is still on the table I'm sitting at now, dried into a rusty shade, blended into the wild painting, all of this done during manic episodes. Here's to leaving the past in the past, and never shall it haunt us again. Here's to living well and enjoying life. Here's to forgetting old pain and cherishing new love. And so with the release of these two photos I welcome the new year, a clean slate. Let yesterday's mistakes be forgotten, and let tomorrow's mistake's be small ones. Let those memories fade, further, further, further. Remember the good times, happy days past, old loves' faces. Rise above aged sorrow and open your eyes to today's beauty. Dance on a grave and pray that it will never end like that. Open your eyes to the love that surrounds you, to the friends that welcome you, to the beautiful mystery of life that we can debate over an ice-cold beer between touchdowns. I'm sorry, I just don't have any openings in my schedule for ugliness. Those days are gone forever. Today I'll smile one extra time instead, and then I'll catch my little girl's eye and smile some more.

This is what your blood looks like under 100 X magnification. I had my camera with my 100mm macro lens with my at work and just shot a few photo's for fun. Neutrophils deal with defense against bacterial or fungal infection and other very small inflammatory processes and are usually first responders to microbial infection; their activity and death in large numbers forms pus. Monocytes share the "vacuum cleaner" (phagocytosis) function of neutrophils, but are much longer lived as they have an additional role: they present pieces of pathogens to T cells so that the pathogens may be recognized again and killed, or so that an antibody response may be mounted.
