Mermaid Parade 2011 (2 of 5): "Coupon Man Takes a Cigarette Break"
This guy had an awesome costume he told me he had sewn himself the night before, putting a lot of hard work in it and little sleep. I had taken a pic or two with the whole thing on, but when the mask came out it was lovely to discover such a contagious and handsome smile underneath. I know as street photographers we tend to be mostly invisible in our work, shooting and vanishing... But those few times you get to interact in a human level with your subjects, more so if they're nice and approachable, then the experience is priceless.... I gave him my card when he asked if he could get some of the photos. I hope he gets in touch. :-) Mermaid Parade 2011 Coney Island, New York. June 2011 © Sion Fullana All Rights Reserved.
