Description:
Five methods to reduce the negative influence of soda ash factories on the natural environment are presented: 1. obtaining calcium-magnesium phosphates by treating the suspension from raw brine purification with orthophosphoric acid (H"3PO"4), 2. production of precipitated chalk from soda processing waste, 3. production of gypsum and semi-brine, 4. desulphurisation of fume gases from the factory power plant, 5. utilization of distiller waste. The tests, accomplished on a laboratory scale, showed the high efficiency of these methods. Economic analysis has proved that only four out of the five presented processes can have a positive financial effect on soda ash factories, as well as being well justified economically. The value of two of the innovations presented is confirmed by their implementation in factories.

cleaned with a ScotchBrite pad and Ajax Ruby Red Grapefruit liquid dish soap. i have since started cleaning with a solution of ammonia, water, and tiny bit of dish soap. you can tumble with stainless steel shot to clean and harden, but you probably want to do that after you assemble your piece. use STAINLESS steel shot. otherwise you'll have a nasty, dirty, rusty mess of your pretty jewelry. also, search the internet for tips on tumbling jewelry before you work on prized pieces. I use the cheapy Harbor Frieght tumbler and haven't had much trouble. if you use too much soap, or let it tumble for too long, you'll have a gooey black mess on your pieces.
Gunze Sangyo paint removed by ammonia cleaner
Gunze Sangyo paint removed by ammonia cleaner
Gunze Sangyo aqueous paint removed by Windex ammonia glass cleaner. This paint was applied over 11 years previously, and was simply swirled in a half pint deli dish containing Windex brand glass cleaner with ammonia. When the glass cleaner turned the same lipstick-y color as the paint, I pulled out the model and wiped that side with a paper towel. As you can see, the removal didn't damage anything and paint in the indentation between fixed and moving surfaces hasn't been removed yet. More soaking and/or a tooth-pick might be the solution. No damage to the plastic.Nice. IMG_5893
