Pinkstinks: Is This Age Appropriate?
Client: Pinkstinks Campaign: 'Slap in the Face of Childhood' Inspiration: Inspiration for the campaign derives from research into parent and baby catalogues. Within these, we can see that even before birth, children are stereotyped: pink themed products are aimed at baby girls, whilst blue themed products are aimed at baby boys (baby grows, bibs, cots, prams). To Sum Up: The campaign aims to encourage the existing Pinkstinks fan base to spread the word about the organisation by encouraging their friends to support the cause. Members of the pre-existing Pinkstinks Facebook group will be asked to set their personal Facebook display picture as a promotional electronic poster (to be downloaded from the Pinkstinks Facebook group’s profile pictures album). By doing this, their Facebook friends may wonder if they are expecting a child, click on the image and realise it is a campaign - an element of humour. Furthermore, the user’s photo caption will refer a link to the Pinkstinks Facebook group, so that their Facebook friends can be redirected quickly and easily. Facebook has been used as the campaign medium for a number of reasons: -The campaign makes great use of the existing fan base (1000+ users) that are already available on the Pinkstinks Facebook group -Potentially, we are targeting a huge audience: according to Facebook’s statistics, there are more than 500 million active users, 50% of their active users log on to Facebook each day, and each user has on average 130 friends -Through expanding the Pinkstinks online community, more people can share more information with like-minded individuals -From the Pinkstinks Facebook group, members can be redirected to the Pinkstinks website for more information and a chance to donate Benefits for Pinkstinks -No funding is required -The campaign requires little input from Pinkstinks’ staff -The campaign is based on a simple idea that is also tongue-in-cheek, as desired -The campaign makes great use of the existing fan base who are already available on the Pinkstinks Facebook group -The electronic poster can also be posted on alternative social networking/blogging websites including Twitter, Tumblr and Blogger The Consumer: Females specifically, 18+ years of age, Facebook and blog users, may have young children or thinking about having young children Benefits for the Consumer: -The campaign is free to participate in -The campaign is quick and simple to participate in -The consumer should feel good about personally helping the organisation promote itself -The consumer is able to be part of an online community with similar beliefs and interests
09 Weston eye
Someone said once, "Everywhere has an eye now" and they weren't wrong! We got two photo's of this and this was the lesser one but it has the seagull for a bit of realism! Lucy has been on my mind a lot this week. There has been oppurtunities to be Lucy but the time has run out and I am out at the weekend anyway. After last weeks positive chat with the doctor, I have found lots of thoughts running through my mind. Most of it's been positive but some of it has been about my male side. I often see girls saying they enjoy their male side as much as their female. I used to say the same but now this would be a lie for me. My male side has been warped and twisted by 25 years of denying my feminine side. I feel now it has gone past the point of no return and can't wait to kiss it goodbye. The reality is that I need to set a few things in place (like a secure roof over our heads and less masculine job) and then I will probably go full time as Lucy. I mentioned this in a photo a couple of months ago and got more than one message by girls that has assumed because of this I was leaving the online world and going into stealth. This is not the case. This oculd take a couple of years at least to get to and even then, why would I abandon my online life? I live online as Lucy anyway so nothing would have changed. So, again, I am not going away! Of course, don't feel intimidated or scared by what I write, this is me and not necessarily youselves. And feel free just to comment on the picture if you wish :)
