Time Magazine Camera
This is the "original" crappy fake-SLR toy camera that was distributed as part of the TIME magazine promotion. It comes with a single element 50mm F/6 "Lavec Optical Glass Lens" and a single speed single blade shutter (1/100s). The aperture is changed by rotating a plastic disc with a slot of varying width on it. The lens, aperture control, and shutter mechanism can be taken apart after removing the aluminum name plate (ring) from the lens front. The top and bottom cover can be removed like ordinary old style rangefinder / viewfinder cameras. A big chunk of lead is hidden under the bottom cover, which counts for the majority of the camera weight. Value Village wanted $10 for this crap (the same price as they ask for a good Ricoh KR-30sp with 50mm F/1.7 lens). Sure nobody would buy at that price. Grabbed it for 99 cents in a Monday sale event. Not bad for a toy -- and it has a hot shoe!Tom Price's Fields - My Recent Trip to Wales
I had a wonderful time in England last week and saw more amazing horses. And I thought I'd seen them all last time! My goodness Tom has some beauties hidden away! These are just the first 2 horses' photos I got to edit. Since it had snowed and the sun was so low in the sky, the lighting was very tricky...not to mention the issue I had with burning out my camera battery while recharging due to the higher voltage there. But I still got lots of photos, and I learned a valuable lesson for my next trip!
