  • A charge-coupled device (CCD) is a device for the movement of electrical charge, usually from within the device to an area where the charge can be manipulated, for example conversion into a digital value. This is achieved by "shifting" the signals between stages within the device one at a time.
  • A Charge Coupled Device, or CCD camera, converts light into electrical charges. This type of camera is used often in astrophotography.
  • Short for "charge-coupled device." A CCD is a light-sensitive electronic detector widely used in making astronomical images. Sensitive over a wide range of wavelengths, and much more efficient than emulsion in gathering light, CCDs are often used to image extremely faint objects.

Mini USB cables are designed to connect your 4-pin mini-USB device to the USB port on your PC or Mac. The 4-pin Mini USB Cable works with MP3 players, digital cameras including Sony, Olympus, Kodak, Epson, Minolta and HP, and other portable devices. Foil and braid shielding reduces EMI/RFI interference, and the twisted-pair construction reduces cross talk, thus ensuring high-speed, error-free data transfer. The Mini-USB Cable meets all the UL requirements for communication cabling and is compatible with all USB specifications.

The DI-5000 is a lightweight passive infrared - real-time thermal imaging system operating in the 8 to 12 im spectral region. The system is based on uncooled microbolometer Focal Plane Array technology that offers high reliability with low total life-cycle costs. This technology eliminates blooming and is designed to mount on vehicles or buildings. The interface is a flat panel display and its position in the vehicle or building can be customized to offer the optimal human-machine interface. The DI-5000 has many options to optimize its use for the desired application. It consists of a single transceiver that operates with a 60-degree antenna. An optional reflector assembly which will extend the range to 10 miles is available (only on 5.7 GHz models in FCC countries). SM synchronization and control is accomplished via the received AP signal. SMs may be located either in – or outdoors, depending on the distance from the AP. Once the SM is initialized, it scans the RF channels and automatically registers and authenticates with the appropriate AP. Each SM requires a Category 5 cable with DC power supplied to the SM through that same cable. The SM kit requires a separate 110 or 220V power supply (ACPS110 or ACPS220) and associated RJ45 connector to power the SM.

A few screws and the LCD can be carefully moved out of the way, without unplugging any cables. This exposes the back of the CCD, which is held in place with 3 pozi screws. The screws have a hard glue over the top and this needs to be carefully chipped away with a sharp implement, before undoing the screws. Top tip - start on a cheaper camera first. If at all unsure of what you are doing - don't bother as all cameras have a flash capacitor charged to about 350 volts. At the least this can give you a nasty shock causing you to destroy the camera at the worst it could kill you. As far as destroying a camera, I speak from experience. I tried to modify a cheap Fuji a few years ago during my lunch break. Great hilarity in the workshop as it flew across the bench on its way to destruction.
