Noisy Miner 3
Noisy Miner 3
This is the Noisy Miner (Manorina melanocephala). This particular one is happily picking bugs just a few feet from me. It is known to be a bold and curious bird, with grey body, black crown and cheeks. The bill and legs are yellow. It is called the Noisy Miner because of the common calls that are uttered repeatedly by members of the colony. It inhabits woodlands, open forests and suburban areas. Feeds on nectar, fruits and insects. A similar species is the Yellow Throated Miner (Manorina flavigula).
