Bergen Geophysical Society was started in 1949, one year after the opening of the University of Bergen. The aim of the society is to bring together students and staff from companies and institutes in Bergen who are working in fields related to meteorology, oceanography and geophysics.

Bergen Geophysical Society are hosting 2-4 meetings per year, open to anyone interested. A yearly board meeting with party is held in the autumn every year.
