Biography

Benjamin Biemond obtained his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. Subsequently, he started a PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology, under the supervision of prof.dr. Henk Nijmeijer and dr.ir. Nathan van de Wouw. Benjamin received his PhD degree in March 2013 with his thesis "Nonsmooth dynamical systems: On stability of hybrid trajectories and bifurcations of discontinuous systems" (PDF).
Subsequently, Benjamin started as a postdoc with prof.dr. Wim Michiels at the Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics Section of the Computer Science Department of KU Leuven. He studied the dynamics and control of nonlinear systems with time-delays. He  provided new results at the intersection of the domains of nonsmooth systems and time-delay systems. He received a FWO Pegasus Marie Curie Fellowship.

In September 2016, Benjamin has started as Dynamics & Control Specialist at the Department of Optomechatronics at the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research TNO, Delft.
