What Is the Ben Franklin PTO?

What is the purpose of the PTO?

The Ben Franklin PTO is a FUN group of parents, teachers, and staff who work together to benefit the students and families of Ben Franklin. The stated purpose of the Ben Franklin PTO is to:

a) Support the education of children by fostering the relationship between the students, parents, and teachers at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

b) Enhance the education facilities and opportunities for Ben Franklin Students.

c) Promote volunteer opportunities and sponsor projects and events for the benefit of Ben Franklin Students.

How does the PTO help?

We work closely with the teachers and staff to meet the needs at Ben Franklin. We offer assistance with field trip costs to allow students educational opportunities outside the classroom. We help the school purchase technology to meet classroom needs and provide assistance for teacher classroom wishlist items. In addition, we offer social events to bring families together and support the community of Ben Franklin.

Why do you have fundraisers?

We would not be able to support Ben Franklin School without the generous support of our many members (you)! Donations of any size are important to help us meet the needs of our Ben Franklin students.

How can I get involved?

We’re so glad you asked!

-Join us at our PTO meetings, held on the second Tuesday of the month. Come find out what is happening in and around the school!

-Come to our events! Check the weekly school newsletter, our PTO web page, and/or our PTO Facebook page regarding upcoming events.

-Sign up to volunteer at an event. The giving of your time makes a big difference for our students!

-Make a donation! Whether it’s food or supplies for an event or a monetary donation, every little bit helps!

I have more questions, who can I ask?

Please contact any of our 2019-2020 Board members if you have more questions and we’d be happy to talk with you about the Ben Franklin PTO.
