RESEARCH

Quantum entanglement and superposition are the resources used for new modes of thinking about measurement and communication science — known as Quantum Information Science.  The development of this field can yield substantial benefits; however there are significant obstacles to overcome relating to quantum system generation, manipulation, and measurement.   

My research consists of experimental investigations of entanglement and superposition through the use of quantum optical systems.  This research ranges from fundamental investigations of the foundations of quantum theory  and computer science to the development of practical quantum communication protocols and quantum metrology techniques.  The research combines quantum physics, quantum optics, photonics, and engineering.

Currently, I am  a member of the Optical and Quantum Communications Group in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) at MIT.
