You have to find the missing word. It is on sale now from the usual outlets - the Post Office, White Horse, Antiques Shop and Intrim in Bempton, as well as the Art Gallery in Buckton. It is also available from Village Hall Committee members. Priced at just £1, the first prize is £15 and closes on Saturday December 27th.

Although when the last quiz ended it was announced that another one would be out in May, it will now be out in June. This is because of other quizzes out at the moment in Bempton.

If you are reading this, you will already know about our new web address: bemptonquiz.googlepages.com. Although not as short and snappy as the previous one, it was decided to change it because of the unacceptable levels of banner and pop up advertising on the page. Please amend any bookmarks or favourites you may have.

Question 2: Should read 1985 World Cup golf winner. This question has now been declared void due this error, so all answers will be accepted.

Question 10: Should read "The Iron Man" not "The Tin Man"

A new quiz is ready and has been launched this week. Quiz #40 is on the subject of U.S. state capitals. There are 50 general knowledge questions, but the link is that within each answer contains the name of a US state capital. As usual, the quiz costs £1 and is available from the Post Office, White Horse, Antiques Shop and Intrim in Bempton, as well as the Art Gallery in Buckton. All proceeds go to the Bempton Village Hall Fund, and there is a top prize of £15.

  • CORRECTIONS ON FLOWERS QUIZ

Unfortunately, there are three mistakes on the new Flowers quiz. 

Question 1:        Some people have contacted me to say that the film in question was actually the winner of the Oscar for best film in 1989, not 1990. To clarify - the Oscar for this movie was awarded in 1990, but the film itself was made in 1989.

Question 5:        Number of letters should read 10, question requires an extra 'T'.

Question 9:        The player in question played for Scotland and Arsenal, not England.

Question 22:      Number of letters should read 10.

All the answers contain the name of a country, county, state or city from somewhere in the world.

  • MISTAKE IN BIRDS QUIZ

One mistake has been found in the new birds quiz. It is on question 31 - Name of Baltimore's baseball team. The clue indicating the number of letters in the answer should read (9,7) and not (9,8) as published. Apologies.
