Welcome to my website.

I lecture in genomics at Plymouth University. Previously I lectured at Oxford and was a researcher at Imperial College and before that the Natural History Museum in London.

Most of my recent research has been on the evolution of endogenous retroviruses, which are viruses that due to their replication cycle have become part of our genome sequence. Currently I am investigating whether they have a medical role both in causing disease and as a potential therapy target.

I am an Academic Editor for the PLoS Pathogens and PLoS ONE journals.
