Through career exploration, job shadows, internships, etc., BHS School-to-Career provides students with opportunities to acquire both essential occupational skills and academic competencies in real-world settings.
Students will be able to connect and apply what they have learned in school to their work in the local community, making learning more relevant and creating a smoother transition into the work force and/or education beyond high school.

"Find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life!"
The program is designed to assist the young people of Belmont and Canterbury with planning for their futures. Students explore careers and research the education and/or training required to enter their professions of interest. It will enable students to develop direction and plans for their lives after high school.
BHS School-to-Career...is for every student!
Belmont High School has a commitment to working with and listening to members of our business and professional communities in order to help our students develop useful skills and needed content knowledge. We are open to the input regarding capabilities that are most needed in our economy, and we are looking to our community members to provide career information, job shadowing, and internship opportunities to our students.
The Internship is 15-60 hours of work within a five-month semester (approximately 2-3 hours/week.) Students will keep time logs, reflections, and will complete a final presentation for a grade of Pass or Fail. If the internship is successfully completed, the student can earn up to 1 credit towards graduation.
The Job Shadow is a half (3 hr.) or full (6 hr.) day observation of a workplace with a local business partner. Students are required to reflect on their experience and share what they learned.
