Bellerose Beautification Lobby Decoration - Displays in school lobby for seasons and events
Bellerose Central Bank - Work as a bank teller during the student's lunch period (11am-1pm) and make deposits for students
Blood Drives - Chairs coordinate with Long Island Blood Drive, volunteers are needed for sign-ins, child care and reminder calls
Book Fair - coordinate book fair with scholastic. Volunteers assist children with sales and shopping for age appropriate books during their assigned classroom times.
Box Tops - Coordinate collection of Box Tops and submission to redeem for cash value
Bricks for Kids - Creativity sessions for children using Legos. Organize sessions with outside organization make sure a PTA member is in attendance for each session.
Chess Nuts - Chess classes after school. Organize sessions with outside organizations and make sure a PTA member is present at each session.
Citizen of the Month - Students are chosen each month by faculty. Make awards/photographing children and creating a bulletin board display in the school lobby
Coat Drive - collection and distribution for charity
Community Outreach/Food Drive - Collect donations for charity in special school events
Ducks Game - Bellerose family night at the Duck's game. Ticket sales and distribution
Egg Hunt - Plan and organize an egg hunt at Bellerose for Pre-K and Kindergarteners
Fall Fundraiser - Organize Fall fundraiser and help with orders and distribution
Family Picnic - Help plan this family event at Bellerose in June
Field Day - assist PE teachers with Field day activities
Harvest Festival - An Autumn Harvest festival for families held at Bellerose Avenue with food music and activities.
Health & Safety (district) - Attend 3-4 district meeting regarding the health and safety of students
Holiday Boutique - The Holiday Boutique allows children the opportunity to shop for small gifts to give friends and family during the winter holiday season. Volunteers assist in helping the children purchase items during their class' assigned time.
Hospitality - Coordinates baked goods and refreshments for special events
Kindergarten Orientation - Introduce incoming Kindergarteners and their parents to Bellerose Avenue through tours and activities.
Labels for Education - Coordinate collection of labels and submission for cash value
Legislative Representative - attend town and county meetings and report pertinent information to Bellerose PTA
Leveled Books - work with the Principal and staff to determine reading levels for books
Lost & Found - Sort lost clothing articles and lunch boxes and coordinate their donation to charities twice a year
Lunch Advisory (district) - A district committee that meets monthly to discuss the food program.
Math Carnival - A math themed fun night at Bellerose in January with games and prizes.
Family Movie Night - Bellerose families meet at Elwood Movie Theater to watch a movie.
Nominating Committee - Identify parents interested in being on next year's PTA board
PARP - "Parents as Reading Partners" work along with three Bellerose teachers to plan and run this annual reading program and author visit
Pie Sale - take pie orders, sort orders and distribute them to parents. Pies are from a local bakery around Thanksgiving time. All proceeds go to the Barbara Frost fund.
Plant Sale - Coordinate orders and pick-up date/times
Playground Games - Volunteers play games with the children during their outdoor lunch recess during Fall and Spring on Wednesdays from 11am -1pm.
PTA Closet - Organize items kept in PTA closet
PTA Grant Committee - Research and apply for grants offered to PTA units.
PTA Membership - Collect PTA membership forms, process memberships, issue member cards and have a display at Open House
Public Relations - Photograph events and act as media liason
Reflections - Coordinate school arts contest for submission to a national PTA contest ( contact PTA President for further information)
SAVE - "Schools Against Violence in Education" Attend 3-4 district meetings to discuss issues related to violence/bullying
School Boxed Supplies - Take orders for boxed school supplies and arrange for pick-up date and times
School Pictures - Help organize and run Picture Day and Make-up Picture Day
School Store - Sell supplies to children during their lunch periods from 11am-1pm. Volunteer for one or more days.
Science Discovery Day - Help plan and organize this science workshop event in February
SEPTA Liason - Attend SEPTA (Special Education PTA) meetings and events and report back pertinent information to Bellerose PTA (for more information on SEPTA click on the link under Important Websites at the left)
Shared Decision Making - Meet with school principal, school counselor and reading teacher
Spiritwear Sales - Take orders twice a year, sort and distribute orders for hoodies, tees and totes. (Open to New ideas for spirit wear)
Spring Fundraiser - Coordinating information and orders and distribution of the fundraiser items.
Staff Appreciation Day - Help thank the Bellerose staff with a breakfast and lunch
Welcome Back Breakfast - Organize a welcome back breakfast for Bellerose faculty during the 2nd week of school
Wellness Representative (district) - attend the district's monthly meeting and district programs regarding student wellness. Must also try and connect with Bellerose PE teachers about how the PTA can assist in a wellness plan.
WINGO (K-2) - Wingo is Bellerose Avenue's very own version of BINGO. Families meet in the All-Purpose Room for a night of friendly competition. Prizes are awarded.
WINGO (3-5) - Same as above.
