Soles 4 Souls

The Bellerose Avenue SHARE students are proud to announce our participation in a Shoe Drive for the non-profit organization, Soles 4 Souls.  Over the next week we will be collecting used shoes, ranging from infant shoes through adult sizes.  Donations can be placed in the collection box in the hallway next to the main office.  The Shoe Drive will run from March 23, 2015, through March 30, 2015.  Due to the brevity of the Drive, we would appreciate your shoe donations as soon as possible.  The drive cannot be extended because we are collecting in conjunction with a group that needs to ship the shoes at the end of March.
If you have any questions please call Dr. Tener at (631) 262-6804.
Your support is truly appreciated!

The next Movie Day will be held at the Elwood Movie Theater at 9:45 on Saturday March 28th.  The movie will be Home.  WE ARE ALMOST SOLD OUT!  $8 per person includes the movie ticket, popcorn and  a drink.

It’s back! The Bellerose community collected over 3,000 lbs. of food in 2014 for the Npt/ENpt Ecumenical Food Pantry! Let’s see if we can beat that in 2015! Let's see which class will win the “Bellerose PB&J Trophy.” A list of suggested donations is attached. Thank you for making a difference! Contact Shawne Albero with any questions.

Monday March 23 - 7 p.m.  BOE Meeting - Various budgetary topics will be on the agenda Click here to view the agenda.  As many of you are aware, the proposed budget for the 2015-16 school year includes the elimination of the District Arts Chair.   At this time, the PTA is not formally advocating a position regarding the proposed elimination of the Arts Department Chairperson position as this has has not been a subject of a formal discussion and vote.  However, as many are aware, Northport-East Northport Schools have a rich history in both the arts and music.  If you feel strongly about the elimination of the Arts Department chairperson, some ways you can have your voice heard are through attending the BOE meeting and speaking on the topic, or writing a letter to the BOE.  Additionally, a "grass-roots" group on Facebook has also been created on the issue (Northport-East Northport Stands up for the Arts) and they have also created a petition on the issue.  For further information, please see the attachment entitled Northport High School PTA email which summarizes last week's BOE meeting.
