Swedish Butter Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Confectioner's sugar

1. In large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add syrup. Combine flour and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
2. Divide into 8 portions, then roll each portion into a 9inch log
3. Place logs 3inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 300
°F for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
4. Immediately cut into 1 inch slices and remove to wire racks to cool. Dust with confectioner's sugar.
