Yield: 1 cup

1 large ripe avocado
1/2 small white onion, finely chopped
1 fresh jalapeno pepper, or to taste, seeded and minced
1 small ripe tomato, finely diced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
  1. Halve the avocado and remove the pit.
  2. Use a spoon to scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  3. Use a fork or a potato masher to coarsely mash the avocado.
  4. Combine avocado with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Let stand for a few minutes, then serve immediately.
