The Tokyo Metropolis League
is the premier amateur football league tournament for expats in
Tokyo. The league it consists of two divisions of teams and is played
from around September through until May. BEFC won TML Division II in 2007 and gained promotion to play in Division I next season.
BEFC also enter a team in the annual Footy Japan Cup, a side tournament to the TML, consisting of a knockout format with both plate and cup divisions.
Throughout the year BEFC also enter teams to various tournaments such as the invitational Japan ALT tournament in Nagano or the YCAC Charity Sixes. These are usually an annual highlight and a great opportunity to play a lot of footy and of course try to bring home some silverware.
BEFC also play a number of 5-side and 11-side friendlies with other teams in the TML or associated with the club or embassy. These are for the enjoyment of the game, oh and to get some match practice, which we usually need.
BEFC practice on Wednesday evenings at the British Embassy in Hanzomon. It starts at 6.45pm on the tennis courts and this usually involves 3 teams of 5-side and round-robin games along abridged futsal rules.
If you are interested in a game, practice or organising a friendly please send an email to the team at firstname.lastname@example.org
