2016 Christmas Tree Forest Winners!!!

posted Dec 20, 2016, 7:21 AM by Bee County Historical Society

The 2016 Christmas Tree Forest at the Historic McClanahan House Museum proved a tremendous success. Twenty beautiful trees graced the museum for this year’s event and the public was able to vote on their favorite tree. The following trees won by popular vote:

Adult Division:

1st Place Coastal Bend College Spanish Club
2nd Place Historic Park Hotel and Antique Shoppe and Collectibles
3rd Place Native American Council of Beeville

Children’s Division

1st Place First Baptist Church School
2nd Place St Philip’s Episcopal Church School – Kinder to 3rd Grade
3rd Place Hampton Moreno Dugat – Kinder to College

The museum was able to collect $443.60 in “tree votes” which will help offset costs of electrical usage and keep the museum operating for folks to visit. We are open the first Sunday of every month from 2pm to 4pm. The public was very generous in their donations for the votes on their favorite trees and their non-perishable food donations to the local Beeville Vineyard Food Bank as you can see from the collection of canned goods. A win-win for all concerned. Thank you, Beeville, and surrounding communities!!!
