May Pack Meeting 5/17 @6.30 at McKelvie

posted May 14, 2018, 7:45 PM by Pack 5 Webmaster

We have our last Pack meeting for this academic year on Thursday 5/17 at McKelvie School Cafeteria at 6.30 pm.

This being the last meeting, there are a few key things that I wanted to bring to your attention:
1. This meeting is our Bake and Toys auction. Every year parents bring in baked goods like Cakes and Cookies and / or new toys and other items that are donated to the Pack for the silent auction. You can either bake the cake / cookies or buy it. Please make sure you have ingredients identified for families with food allergies.

During the meeting, we will give kids and parents plenty of time to bid on the silent auctions. All bids will need to be signed by the parents so that there are no surprises.

2. This meeting is also the Crossover ceremony. This is where the boys will cross over the bridge to their new ranks.

We will also have signups for the events listed below at the Pack meeting:
a. Fisher Cats sleepover / game on 5/18 - 5/19
b. Bedford Pre-Memorial Day parade 5/27
c. Minute Muster 6/24
d. Resident Camp in July
e. Mt. Washington Sleepover 8/4

Please remember to bring in your check books for the auctions and sign ups.

For those who had ordered the Class B shirts, they have arrived and will be distributed at the Pack meeting. Please make sure your payments are made for the same as well.

Looking forward to an exciting Pack meeting.

Our next Pack meeting is Thursday, 1/18 at 6.30pm at McKelvie School Cafeteria.

There a few things that I would like to bring to your attention:
1. This Pack meeting is our Uniform inspection. This is also a den level competition and the winning Den gets their name listed on the plaque. All cub scouts will be checked for:
a. Cleanliness (Posture, Face, Hands, Fingernails, Hair)
b. Uniform (Cap, Neckerchief, Slide, Shirt, Belt, Patches, Belt)
c. Attendance

Please make sure to dress your cub scouts so they can win the award for their Dens.

2. If you have signed up for the events and not paid as yet, or if you have balance payable for registration, popcorn or anything else, please remember to bring in your checkbooks. We do accept credit cards, but an additional 3% may be applicable.

3. January 21st is our Snow Tubing. For all those who have signed up, please don't forget to fill in the Waiver forms and bring them with you. This will speed up our checkin process and we will get more time on the slope. Here is a link to the form: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BynPBNlf9kmhTnpneGpZSm9YWDNlanlGdTFzam50M2VSekQ4

4. We have a sleepover at the Montshire Museum in Vermont on 3/3 -  3/4. Due to requirements laid by the museum, we need everyone to register by 1/31. Registration is $40 per person. We need a minimum of 25 people (adults and children) to go for this event. Siblings are welcome. https://www.montshire.org/

5. If you have registered for the Monarchs game and sleepover for 2/3 - 2/4, please send a note to me or Mr. Krones indicating if you plan to attend the sleepover or if you are going for the game only.

6. Lastly, we will have extra Pinewood derby cars for sale for Adults and Siblings @ $5 each. They will be available during the Pack meeting. There are some cub scouts who have not picked up their cars. Please do pick them at the January meeting. Pinewood derby car kits for cub scouts are free.

See you all on Thursday.
