Think before you shoot!
The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) has created this website for information on bedbugs. COHHIO's tenant outreach staff are not experts on bedbugs, but we get a lot of questions and have tried to gather as much credible information as possible to share.
If you have additional information that may be helpful to others or would like to share your story about addressing bed bug problems in your home, please send an email to:
Bed Bug Guidance Revised
Housing Notice 2012-05 "Guidelines on Addressing Infestations in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)–insured and Assisted Multifamily Housing" modifies and substantially revises areas of concern from prior notice H 2011-20 Guidelines on Bed Bug Control and Prevention in HUD Insured and Assisted Multifamily Housing.
The new notice, issued April 24, 2012, supercedes prior guidance and HUD directs owner/agents seeking guidance on the subject of bed bug or other infestations to refer to Notice H 2012-5 for updated information on how to prevent and address infestations "including but not limited to bed bugs, insects, and all manner of vermin."
You can download the new notice here: http://portal.hud.gov/huddoc/12-05hsgn.pdf
More information is available on our HUD Policy page.
