About me

My name is Becca Black and I have recently graduated from Colorado State University in the fall of 2013. Born and raised in Colorado, I love hiking, bikinig, and swimming, but above all I love art and teaching. I enjoy visiting art museums just as much as I love creating my own art. I mainly enjoy painting with oils, but also have experience in photography. In my free time you can often find me painting in the studio listening to oldies and smooth jazz or out enjoying the adventurous landscape Colorado has to offer. Teaching is very important to me because I love children and have always believed that education is one of the most powerful tools we possess.

The reason I got into art education is because Art communicates in a way that words cannot. It can express human emotion in an entirely new way. Through art:
  • I want my students to learn something about themselves.

  • I want students to gain skills that are not easily acquired in other subject areas.
  • I want students to seek and discover creative solutions to problems.
