Happy New Year and welcome to 2016! We are working on 3 new exciting campaigns and need volunteers to help with their success.

- Signature gathering to petition City Council to enact a ban

Save the Sequoias at Vose Elementary
Two old 50+ yr old Sequoias are scheduled to be cut down in June
- We will be accelerating decisions about our actions this week.
- Community meeting at Vose ES on Wed. Jan 20th 7pm-8:30pm
- City Planning Commission Hearing at City Hall on Jan 27th6:30pm
- Lots of talking to neighbors, sign holding, door knocking, meeting attending etc.

City "Camp Out"
Thanks to community partners and volunteers, we have been getting the word out about Beaverton's lack of an emergency warming shelter. Beaverton continues to hold the highest rate of homeless children in the state. To bring even more awareness to this issue we are co-hosting a city "Camp Out" with the Beaverton HELP Center. Community elected officials, leaders and partners will all be invited to join us for a one night "Camp Out" on the streets of Beaverton.
- Strategy meeting will be this month to begin hashing out the details - looking for strategists to join us.
- The event will take place February or March
- The Social Justice League will most likely need 7-10 volunteers for the event.
