We are entering the eighth week of the 2015 Legislative Session, which puts us a mere three weeks away from the first major committee deadline: Any bill that does not have a work session scheduled by April 10th in its chamber of origin will die in committee. Note: This deadline does not apply to the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, other joint committees, the Senate Committee on Finance and Revenue, House Committee on Revenue, and the Senate and House Committees on Rules.
The I/DD Coalition is tracking or monitoring 244 bills of interest to the developmental disability community. Just over one-third of those bills have had public hearings to date. Committee agendas are quickly filling up and will likely remain full as pressure builds in the coming weeks.
