This is the Pink and Blue Butterfly, Batesia Hypochlora, Mounted in a Black Frame Real Mounted Butterflies from my home in the Amazon to yours ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. The first two pictures shown are the front and back sides of the frame in that order. 5.5" x 6.5" black frame with double pane glass front and back (see through) *All frames are hand crafted and the quality and characteristics are much better then the common, one-sided Riker Mounts. One of the great benefits of double pane glass framing is that you can see the front and back sides of the mounted butterflies. In most cases involving Neotropical butterflies the front and back sides of the wings are distinctly different. The back many times displays a species distinct form of self defense.* Batesia hypochlora come from the Nymphalidae subfamily Biblidinae, which are closely related to the likes of other stunning butterflies such as the Nessaea hewitsoni, Temenis pulchra, Asteropes, Diaethrias, Callicores and Perisamas. They are even more closely related to the Panaceas and Hamadryas since being a part of the the Biblindinae tribe the Ageroniina. The Batesia are spread throughout the Amazon basin found in Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. These beautiful butterflies have a pink to red spot on the front and backsides of their upper wings. However, on the front side you’ll find a metallic blue spot gleaming from the center whereas on the backside you’ll find a bright, sun like yellow canvas adorning the verso. Every butterfly from Ben the Butterfly Guy comes from butterfly farms throughout the Eastern region of Peru. All butterflies here are classified non-endangered by the international CITES listings as reviewed by both the Ministry of Agriculture from Peru and U.S. Fish and Wildlife in the States. Copies of documentation and clearance are available upon request for your assurance and peace of mind.
