RETRO2METRO - A Charity Fundraiser - A Live Bollywood Concert

India’s recent flood situation has devastated many lives in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Assam and Manipur. Through this event, BCS wishes to raise money to support flood relief programs in India, Bangladesh & Nepal which are working ceaselessly on the ground to provide life-saving aid to flood affected families and help them rebuild their lives.

The Event: Retro2Metro a Bollywood Musical Concert on Saturday 28th October 2017. The event is a Musical Extravaganza performed live by the one and only Sadhana Sargam and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner Debojit Saha.

Venue: The Hexagon, Reading an iconic auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200 known to host professional performances of high production quality.

Details of the day:

11.00am - Door opens - Puja Preparation (All are welcome to join us to help in the prep work)

12.00pm - Puja starts 

12:00pm - Children's Variety Programme

  1:00pm - Quiz for Children 5-16yrs - “Contributions of Indians in Sports and Science

  2:15pm - Pushpanjali

  2:30pm - Hath-e Khori

  3:00pm - Prasad & Lunch


Hath-e Khori: 

If you would like your child to take part in "Hath-e Khori", please bring chalk & slate, exercise book & pencil, or some kind of re-writeable board, on the day. Please note that there is no fixed charge for this.

There is no entrance fee/ticket for the day’s event.  However, any donation would be very much welcome to help with the cost of the food and venue.

  18th - 22nd October at Rivermead Leisure Complex

  Join us for our 3rd year of puja festivies on a grand scale.

  We welcome all communities to participate in the biggest socio-cultural event of the Indian calendar year! 

  As well as the puja rituals, there will be music, dance, competitions, stalls and food!

  It is a time for fun and gaiety with old friends and new.

  2013 was the first time Durga Puja (Sharad Utsav) was celebrated in Reading and we welcomed guests from all over Berkshire and its surrounding counties, making it the largest Indian event in Reading.
