Registration

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

It is no longer possible to register for this year's competition. See the FAQ below for information about entering next year.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • When is the competition? What will I need to bring?

    • Check the COMPETITION page for more information.

    • Is there a way to confirm that I registered or check my registration information?

    • Your adult sponsor has been provided with a list of this information. Check with him or her, and make them aware of any changes. He or she can bring the updated information to our paperwork review meeting. It may not be possible to make changes after that time.

    • I made a mistake in my registration and/or something about my registration has changed (i.e. project name, category, etc.). How can I edit my registration?

    • After December 1, you will need to contact your adult sponsor to resolve any issues.

    • Please note: Any significant change in your research plan will likely require approval from your adviser using the forms/resources above. All paperwork for projects requiring SRC approval must be received by the scheduled SRC Review Meeting #1.

    • I am no longer interested in completing my research project, and I will not be participating in the fair. What should I do?

    • Inform your adult sponsor that you will not be participating. He or she will need to remove your name from your school's roster. Unfortunately, once paid, entry fees are non-refundable.

    • I have decided that I no longer wish to participate in BCSRC. Is it possible to have my $20 registration fee refunded?

    • No- the $20 registration fee is non-refundable.

    • Which team members should pay via PayPal?

    • All team members need to register individually. Be sure to identify other team members within the online registration survey. Also, each team member needs to pay a separate non-refundable $20 registration fee. If your team failed to complete either of these steps, contact your adult sponsor immediately.

    • What is an adult sponsor?

    • This is a representative at your school, sometimes referred to as a research adviser, who is in charge of science fair. It is often a teacher. This individual serves as the contact person for the school and attends meetings on behalf of the school. You can access a list of adult sponsors in last year's event program on our RESULTS page.

    • I am not sure if an adult sponsor exists at my school. What should I do?

    • Ask a science teacher. If they are unsure, ask the science department coordinator or building principal at your school. You can access a list of adult sponsors in last year's event program on our RESULTS page.

    • When can I start experimentation?

    • Your completed paperwork packet must be approved by your adult sponsor before experimentation can begin. Certain projects, often those involving human subjects, vertebrate animals, or potentially hazardous biological agents, also require SRC approval in advance.

    • My project requires SRC approval, and I did not complete the approval process in time to compete in this year's event. I would like to start work so that I can compete in next year's competition. What should I do?

    • Contact the adult sponsor at your school for more information. He or she has received specific instructions related to this scenario.

    • I missed this year's competition deadlines, but I would like to compete next year. What should I do?

    • Contact the adult sponsor at your school for more instructions. If your school is not currently participating in BCSRC, contact us for more information at buckscountysciencefair@gmail.com
