The traffic lights at the intersection of US 278 and Spanish Wells Road on Hilton Head Island are currently malfunctioning (flashing yellow). Deputies are at the intersection and will be directing traffic over the next few hours, while South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) crews repair the traffic lights.

Also on Hilton Head Island, SCDOT crews are currently treating the surface of the Charles E. Fraser Bridge, which connects the Cross Island Parkway and Palmetto Bay Road. The Cross Island Parkway and the Charles E. Fraser Bridge remain closed at this time.

Beware of falling ice/icicles as the temperatures warm today; they most certainly can cause injury. It is advisable not to stand under buildings or trees where ice/icicles have formed.

We have received comments from the public suggesting that it would have been helpful to include the specific locations of some of lesser known bridges that were impacted by the winter weather, rather than just the ceremonial names. In response, our future advisories for weather or other events that impact Beaufort County's bridges will include the location, along with the ceremonial names of the affected bridges.

Thank you for your continued attention to our advisories. We will keep you updated on conditions as the day progresses.
