Parents of Elementary Children with Special Needs
This group is for parents of special needs students including learning disabilities, physical & mental disabilities, as well as ADHD. Our goal is to provide information or simply a way to discuss new and innovative ways to support our special students. We meet monthly and are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 6:00 p.m in Room 52 at Old Mill Elementary The meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Grandparents Support Group
This group is for grandparents or extended family members serving as the primary caregiver of a student. Join us to address a variety of topics that can assist you in your caring for your student. Join other grandparents in the community experiencing the same or similar journey. This will be a great time to meet others, socialize, receive materials and get the information you may need. Teen Parent Support & Scapbooking Club
This group is for teen parents or pregnant teens within Bullitt County. This will be an opportunity to meet other teens that can relate to your experience. The meetings will take place from 6:30-8:30pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month beginning October 16th at the Bullitt County Extension Office (384 Halls Lane, Shepherdsville). At 6:30pm, the group will begin meeting with Arleta Watkins to discuss issues of teen parenting. At 7pm teens will scrapbook with Tonya Tucker. Bring pictures of babies, friends, family and other items you want to include in your scrapbook. The group is free of charge. If you are a teen parent and want to participate but do not have transportation, contact Arleta Watkins at (502)957-6714 to help work out a solution.
Hispanic Mothers Homemakers Group
This group is for Hispanic mothers of students in the Bullitt County Schools. If you are interested in the group or would like to receive more information please contact Betty Marshall at 955-5353 or
