Joint SSA/BBSS Avalanche Awareness Evening

Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015  7:00pm-9:00pm

Hudson Bay Lodge, Main Floor, Summit Room

Admission: By donation so please bring a few dollars.

The theme of the evening is avalanche awareness. Discussion topics include this year's snow pack and what it means to both sledders and skiers, along with other topics still in development. One of the speakers is a sledder, so perspectives will be diverse and represent the local snow-recreation community!

This is a co-sponsored event by the Smithers Snowmobile Association (smitherssnowmobileassociation.com) and the BBSS, with support from Avalanche Canada.

Proceeds go toward putting on the event and bringing in out-of-town speakers!

Stay tuned for more information and posters around town.

See you there, and bring your friends!

Dawn2Dusk is hosting an Intro To Backcountry for people new to backcountry every second Sunday.

This is NOT  a sanctioned course, it is more like a group ride, where people can meet at Dawn 2 Dusk every second Sunday and know there are other people showing up to car pool and go on different adventures with.   We will have a different experienced people to teach skills of backcountry,  however this is NOT  a substitute for a course, just a jumping off point.

For more information, contact Dawn2Dusk at 250-847-4451.
